The Admiralty
The founder of GreenSky Aquatics and the commander of the League beneath it. One woman, two worlds — the marine biologist the public knows, and the Fleet Admiral the deep waters answer to.
The Founder
To the world, she is Dr. Evelyn Maris — the marine biologist who built GreenSky Aquatics from a single rescue tank into the most respected ocean conservancy of its generation. Her published work on reef restoration, captive breeding of collapsing pelagic stocks, and the chemistry of dying watersheds is taught in universities that have never heard the word AERIEL. The conservancy's hatcheries, its Universal Marine Registry, its public campaigns — all of it is real, all of it is hers, and all of it stands on its own merits in the light.
What the public sees is a founder of rare conviction: relentless in the field, gentle with the creatures in her care, unwilling to accept that the ocean's decline is simply the cost of doing business. It is an honest face. It is only not the whole of one.
The Commander
Within the League, GreenSky Aquatics is the surface and Evelyn is the tide beneath it. As Fleet Admiral she holds final authority over Direct-Action escalation and over the disposition of every Restricted-tier finding the fleet brings home. She founded AERIEL in 2068 on a single premise: that conservation alone — petitions, papers, permits — would not outrun the people stripping the sea bare. So she built something that could.
Her doctrine is patient and exact. The League observes before it acts; it documents before it disrupts; it strikes nets and hulls and ledgers, never the crews who can be spared. But where a human NGO must stop — at the edge of the law, at the edge of the breathable world, at the edge of what can be proven in daylight — she will cross. She crosses because she can reach places no human officer can follow, and because she has never once mistaken the law for the ocean's mandate. Crews who sail under her learn quickly that her calm is not caution. It is the patience of deep water.
On the Admiral
This section is held at the highest tier for a reason, and even here it says less than it knows. The Admiral's file is the only personnel record in the League that the Registry marks Restricted against itself.
What the record will say: she is at home in water no human survives — pressures, cold, and dark that would kill a diver in seconds, logged in her own hand as a working environment. The deepest Abyssal Holding vault, the one whose instruments never fully settle, reads its calmest when she is present. There are crews who have served whole tours under her and seen something they were ordered not to write down, and who did not write it down. The mystery in her file is not a gap. It is policy.
Standing Orders
The Admiral's doctrines, in her own voice, as issued to every hull that flies the League's mark.
- The ocean's mandate is first law.Serve the recovery of living water. Never profit. Never spectacle. Never cruelty. If an order ever fails that test, it is not mine — refuse it.
- Earn every escalation. No hand moves past Observe without cause logged and justified. I will answer for what we do; I will not answer for what we did carelessly.
- Evidence is the strongest blow.Document first. Disrupt only what documentation cannot stop. Proof outlives a sunk net.
- Spare what can be spared. We strike hulls and ledgers, not crews. The waters we defend do not become collateral to defend them.
- Hold what you are told to hold.TIDEWATER-EYES-ONLY is a discipline, not a stamp. What the League knows, the League keeps. Above all, what you see of me.
